About Us

BUILDERS WHO BELIEVE IN YOUR LEGACY

We are a family-owned general contracting company with the in-house talent to deliver quality, efficiency, and affordability that’s well above industry norms.

THE LEGACY
DIFFERENCE

Unlike many general contracting companies, we don’t rely on subcontractors. Instead, we have developed a diverse in-house team of talented builders—true builders, we like to say. Why? Because when you’re working with a truly committed, accountable, and trust-worthy tradespeople, you can ensure higher quality outcomes, greater efficiency, and truly outstanding service. We do it differently, and it shows.

Our success is founded on supporting, protecting, and restoring legacies

Since 2010, our in-house team of true builders has served property owners and insurance adjusters with uncommon efficiency and integrity. Founded by the prairie-born Dan Wollf, our company found its footing after the economic collapse of 2009. Dan had always been inspired by his carpenter/ farmer father, so he made Legacy (originally called D. Wollf General Contracting) a family affair. He hired brothers and cousins, individuals he could trust to share his values.

In 2013, our company grew considerably to meet demand as a preferred contractor during the Alberta High River flood. Driven by the vision of quickly returning people to their homes, Dan and the team got to work. In the process, they learned much about how they wanted to operate: as a trusted quality contractor that could complete any job in a timely and economical fashion.

Rejecting the subcontractor-dependent model followed by many in the industry, Legacy chose to develop a diverse in-house team they could trust.

When we build, restore, or renovate, we are creating better places for people to live and work. Our real work is to restore lives, not buildings. We never forget that.

The Legacy Team

DAN WOLLF

President

Dan founded the company on his own in 2010. He had always wanted to run his own company, since  it’s a way of making a tangible impact on people’s lives who have had a difficult time. He loves camping, running, road biking, quadding, hunting and spending time with his grandkids. His biggest hope for Legacy is to continue to growing its legacy as a business that lasts for generations. He also hopes to do more ministry work and mission trips in the future.

LYLE HUGHES

Project Manager

Lyle (who is also Dan’s son-in-law) has worked with Dan for many years. He chose restoration/construction work because he enjoys creating things with his hands and problem solving. He chose Legacy because he saw, in the company, an opportunity to grow and be a part of helping people rebuild after misfortunes. In the future, he hopes to become a leader and to also get his project management certificate.

Spencer janzen

project manager

Spencer has been with Legacy for 3 years but has worked in the industry for many more. He joined Legacy because he was looking for a place where he could make a difference, and no better place than here. He enjoys being part of a team that helps families to be able to come home again after suffering losses. He loves to spend time with his wife and 4 kids, and in his free time enjoys golfing and coaching minor baseball. Spencer also desires to one day visit every major MLB field in North America.

Steve Maurer

Business Development

Steve has worked in the restoration industry for nearly thirty years. He felt like it was a field where he could make a difference for people who have suffered crises. He chose to work with Legacy because he appreciated the fact that it was a medium-sized local firm with hands-on ownership. He loves golfing and spending time on his boat. He aspires to impart knowledge to the team for the betterment, growth and ultimate success of the company—and also just be a good human being.

MIKE RUPAR

Financial Controller

Mike has extensive experience in accounting and administration and joined Dan in 2014 as the Controller. Since his father was both a mechanic and business owner, he’s always been interested in structural businesses and how they bring about positive results in people’s lives. He chose to work with Legacy because he appreciated the company’s great staff and relaxing atmosphere. He enjoys cycling, reading, and baseball. He aspires to help bring about real growth and improvements to his community and fellow employees; and to lead a life of meaning.

LAUREN VISSER

Office Administrator

Lauren is the glue that ties the team together. She’d had previous experience as an administration professional in the construction industry, so she knew it was a great fit for her. She feels this is a great company to work for, because Legacy has a fantastic work environment that values employees. She aspires to grow in her role at Legacy while learning and accomplishing new things. Also, she is the only person in the office who hopes to one day have a cat named Tofu.

Barry Ooms

BARRY OOMS

Project manager

Barry joined the Legacy Pro team in June 2021. The opportunity fit very well with Barry’s love of construction, the building process and the satisfaction of seeing a project through from inception to completion. Barry has an innate ability to schedule and coordinate multiple projects successfully. This, combined with Barry’s inter-personal skills make him an asset to the Legacy Pro team. Outside of work, hunting and fishing play large in Barry’s recreational activities. Barry’s goal is to buy property and build his own home.

When our home burned down, we really didn’t know what to do. Our insurance company recommended a few companies and we hired the one at the top of the list. That company ended up hiring Legacy to do the work, and I really did not interact with the primary contractor after that. Throughout the process, Dan really went to bat for us; he made sure that we got all the funding we needed from the insurance company and gave us a beautiful home. Next time, I would go straight to Legacy Pro Contractors.

Legacy Pro was great to work with. They helped us with everything from our initial drafting to our interior and exterior finishes. Our timeframe for building was really tight and they did great quality work in the timeframe that we wanted.

G.H., Custom Home Building Client

I lost everything I had in a fire and hired LPC to do my rebuild. It was a hard time for me, but the team at Legacy Pro Contractors went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of and that it was as close to what I used to have as possible. They are very consistent and always aim to please.
